MEXICO CITY (AP) - Mexico has sent alleged drug trafficker Vicente "El Vicentillo" Zambada to a maximum-security prison near the capital to be held pending a U.S. extradition request.Zambada faces a 2003 U.S. indictment on charges of conspiracy to import and distribute cocaine. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration says he supervised the unloading of tons of cocaine from ships off the Mexican coast. His father is Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada, considered one of Mexico's top drug lords.
The Attorney General's Office said Friday that Zambada will be held at the Altiplano prison. He was arrested this week in Mexico City.
