Blago impeached -- but name that party!
2009-01-09
23 paragraphs, and not until the 21st do we learn that he ran in a Democratic primary. But the pols who denounce him all have a D after their name.
In a dramatic display of anger and solidarity over a political scandal that has made Illinois a national laughingstock, lawmakers on Friday voted 114-1 to impeach disgraced Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

It's the first time in the state's history that the Illinois House has voted to impeach its governor. The impeachment proceedings will now move to the Illinois Senate for trial. That trial is scheduled to begin on Jan. 26.

Blagojevich was out jogging in Chicago while lawmakers in Springfield voted to impeach him. Upon returning from his run, he compared his situation to long-distance running.

#6  Rep. Jack Franks (D-Woodstock): "We will no longer tolerate the culture of corruption that has seized our government.”

HmmmÂ….Jack FranksÂ…now where have I heard that name before. Oh yeahÂ…something to do with being the attorney who represented Mercy Hospital during that whole Rezko deal. Yeah...sure think we got it now.

#5  This story originated on CBS 2 Chicago. The station has so few viewers that it is known locally as 'Witness Protection for Newscasters'

#3  Mayor of Baltimore was indicted today too. What rascals those Democrats have become since the press covers now for their culture of corruption.

#2  Nah, it's a school mentality, like in a school of fish. There are too many of them to get other than a shark hand full at a time. The only way to break them is like they broke the Navajo, herd them to a reservation in New Mexico, In this case they can keep them busy preferably along the Mexican border where they can dig a portion of a canal between Brownsville and San Diego without heavy equipment. We can save the other portions for the pols from MA, NJ, etc.
