Hackers shut down Shiite Websites in Iran |

![]() The hackers have blocked access to 300 sites, the semiofficial Fars news agency reported. According to Iranian state TV the hackers are Sunni Muslims based outside of Iran, suggesting a possible sectarian motive, but it did not say how it had obtained this information. Fars said that the hackers are based in the United Arab Emirates, home to a large Iranian community, some of whom oppose the clerical rule in the Islamic Republic. |
