N Korea accuses US-backed radio stations of broadcasting "provocative'' programs criticizing Pyongyang and urges a change of policy. The Radio Free Asia and Voice of America have been broadcasting more and more shows condemning the North, aiming at toppling the communist regime, the official Korean Central News Agency reported Monday.
The report called for an end to the transmissions, adding that the broadcasts prove the US is not willing to make a switchover in its Democratic People's Republic of Korea's policy. North Koreans are officially banned from listening to outside broadcasts and radios are fixed so only state programs can be chosen. |
