Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Saturday night that he had no intention of running for the presidency in the 2008 elections. Putin said that he would advise his successor to take action to reduce poverty and to ensure the growth of the Russian economy.

#6 I don't buy it. Putin has complete control of the Duma with his Unity Party. They could very easily decry the lack of candidates, change the constitution to allow him another term, and "draft" him. I'll believe it when he walks out of the Kremlin. |

And supplying terrorist nations with nuclear technology cannot be defined as a "growth" industry. |
