[Regnum] On October 25, US President Donald Trump announced that he was choosing between making a deal with Iran and ending the country's ties with it forever.
"I have a choice to make. End him, which will be very simple, or make a deal," Trump said in an interview with Fox News.
The American president also stated that oil prices would begin to decline immediately after the end of the Iranian conflict.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a massive military operation against Iran, striking targets across the country. The Islamic Republic responded with missile strikes against Israel and American bases in the Middle East and closed the Strait of Hormuz to unfriendly states. A new escalation in the Middle East began after the United States resumed military operations against Iran on July 10.
On September 19, Iran submitted its terms for ending the military conflict to the United States. The following day, Trump declared that the American administration was launching an unprecedented "economic war and isolation" against Iran. In response, Tehran threatened retaliatory measures against neighboring countries if they joined the US sanctions against Iran. On September 30, Trump stated that the United States would soon decide whether to resume strikes against Iran or seek an agreement with Tehran.
