[Regnum] On October 22, the Houthi movement Ansar Allah claimed a successful attack on the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense building in Riyadh.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saria said the movement had carried out four military operations using ballistic missiles and drones over the past two days.
"The first operation targeted the Ministry of Defense building in the Saudi Arabian enemy's capital, Riyadh. The strike was accurate," Saria said on Al Masirah TV.
Other strikes, he said, targeted a Saudi Aramco oil and gas facility in Yanbu, as well as airports in Dammam and Abha. Saudi Arabian authorities had previously confirmed a strike on the Dammam airport. The attack killed two people and injured eight.
The armed conflict between the Houthis and Yemeni government forces, backed by Saudi Arabia, has been ongoing since August 2014. In July 2026, the Houthis announced the beginning of a naval blockade of the kingdom and allowed for further escalation. On October 5, Ansar Allah declared Saudi Arabian airspace, with the exception of the skies over Mecca and Medina, a zone of military operations. The Houthis announced strikes on the airports of Riyadh and Abha, the Aramco oil refinery, and military installations in the kingdom.
