Iran executes man accused of spying for Israel, sharing missile site information
|
[Rudaw] Iran’s judiciary announced on Saturday that a man accused of spying for Israel and providing information on military and missile sites in the central province of Isfahan during the 12-day war between Iran and Israel has been executed, the latest in a growing number of executions of people accused of spying for Israel.
During the conflict last year, Israel “targeted several sensitive military sites in Iran, and it was later determined that some of these targets had been hit with the cooperation of a small number of alleged agents and people described by Iranian authorities as traitors,” the judiciary-affiliated Mizan news agency reported on Saturday.
The judiciary said that an individual identified as Hossein Pedran had been executed for allegedly being among those “working against Iran by sending sensitive and classified information to US and Israeli intelligence services.”
According to his alleged confessions, he did so for financial gain.
Iran has previously executed numerous people accused of espionage and assisting foreign countries, particularly Israel and the United States, including during the 12-day war last year and the 40-day war that began in late February 2026.
