Obama Elementary School in VA closed indefinitely due to mold and rats

Ick. But so fitting.

[PostMillennial] Richmond, Virginia’s Barack Obama Elementary School has been closed down indefinitely, as officials tackle the building’s mold and rodent problems. The school was originally scheduled to open on August 24 to welcome students for their first day.

In a message to families on Monday, Richmond Public Schools Superintendent Jason Kamras said that teachers and staff setting up for the year had discovered "additional areas of mold growth (for example, behind bulletin board paper)." The district sent everyone home for additional testing and cleaning, per WTVR

Hopefully they'll screw him on the payment so the kids will be led off into a mountain and never seen again. Or send them away to an island in a shipping container like happened in the Epstein files.

The school was first built in the 1920 (and named for J.E.B. Stuart)

It was renovated a few times and new additions were added over the years. The part shown in the article is one of the additions. Not sure about when it was added.

It was renamed and rededicated in 2018.
