US escalates Iran campaign as B-1 bombers launch from UK on 12th consecutive night

U.S. ESCALATES IRAN CAMPAIGN AS B-1 BOMBERS LAUNCH FROM U.K.
B-1 bombers are launching from Britain for the first time as Iran warns the U.K. bases hosting them are now “legitimate targets.”
More than 50,000 U.S. troops are reportedly in the region as additional personnel, including combat medics, deploy to support operations.
Meanwhile, U.S. forces carry out a 12th consecutive night of strikes on Iranian military targets, as President Trump warns civilian infrastructure could be targeted if Tehran continues threatening commercial shipping.
Iran hits Jordan, Kuwait
[IsraelTimes] The Jordanian military said four Iranian ballistic missiles and six drones launched from Iran at the kingdom were intercepted on Thursday.
Iran has been carrying out near-daily attacks on Jordan in the past week.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said earlier that it targeted a radar for the US THAAD missile defense system, a Patriot system, a C-RAM radar and a helicopter hangar in Jordan, according to a statement aired by state TV.
And Kuwait’s army said the Abdali border crossing with Iraq was hit by a drone attack on Thursday, causing material damage but no casualties.
Located in Kuwait’s northern Al-Jahra Province, Abdali is the country’s main land border crossing with Iraq and a key route for passenger and commercial traffic between the two countries.
Iran said this morning it carried out drone attacks on bases in Kuwait hosting US military assets, saying it hit warehouses, fuel tankers and an ammunition depot at three bases in the Gulf country.
It said US strikes hit a border crossing between Iran and Iraq, killing two people.
Before the Red Sea flare-up, Trump threatened Wednesday to bomb one Iranian bridge or power plant in return for each attack on shipping in Hormuz, reiterating his longstanding threat to go after Iranian infrastructure. Trump said on Tuesday he would "take care of" the Iran's Houthi sock puppets

Millions of barrels per day of Saudi oil have been heading to the kingdom’s Red Sea port of Yanbu to avoid the Strait of Hormuz. If shipments cannot exit toward the Arabian Sea through the Red Sea’s southern strait, they have only the northern route through the Suez Canal, adding weeks and costs to the journey.

According to a CENTCOM statement, the strikes hit Iranian "maritime capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites, and air defense assets."
Earlier tonight, U.S. military released this statement:
"This month, American forces have targeted dozens of Iranian military sites on land while resuming a blockade against Iran at sea," the statement added. "As of today, CENTCOM has redirected nine commercial vessels and disabled one to prevent ships from entering or departing Iranian ports."

It also claimed the US attacked Shalamcheh on the Islamic Theocratic Republic ’s border with Iraq, killing two people.
In response to the attacks, Iran said it carried out drone attacks on bases in Kuwait hosting US military assets. The IRGC claimed attacks on Ali Al Salem base, Camp Udairi and a telecommunications tower, while the army said it targeted Camp Doha, Ali Al Salem base and Camp Arifjan, according to separate statements by the forces carried by state TV.
The IRGC also said that it had attacked and destroyed several American military assets in Jordan, including a radar for the US THAAD missile defense system, a Patriot system, a C-RAM radar and a helicopter hangar, according to a statement aired by state TV.
Each side has also reported an escalating human toll.
An Iranian health ministry official said 53 people had been killed and 592 maimed since late last month. It did not differentiate between civilians and military personnel. Since the US and Israel launched the war on February 28, thousands of people have been killed and millions displaced.
The war has also led to the deaths of 18 US service members and injured more than 450 troops. Trump attended a ceremony on Wednesday at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware for four US service members killed in Iranian attacks on military bases over the last few days — three in Jordan and one in Iraq.
“For me it’s one of the hardest things to do as a president. But it has to be done,” Trump said before leaving for the ceremony.
