more than it being untrue, it's strange. Why is something existing before Jews a selling point? Do they think the story is somehow "untainted" by Jews?

I was “black” when I read The Odyssey in high school...

...but somehow I never imagined the characters as looking like me.

Why?

Because they were GREEK characters.

9 The numbers come from a tally of movie theater reports - same as all movies for many years.

I haven't seen the movie but I'm pretty sure the 'wokeness' in the movie is 'just enough to please the Oscar committee' but not enough to ruin the film.

The movie stars Matt Damon as Odysseus and, whatever else you can say about him, he is a capable actor. The movie was filmed to show great images in the tradition of the 'historical' blockbusters of the past. I've heard there is a fair amount of contemporary obscenity which I detest but it wouldn't stop me from going to see it. As far as making Helen of Troy a black women, well that only a few minute on the screen and she really doesn't do much. Ellen/Elliot Page has a minor role as a soldier but it really is minor. She also play Achilles but in that scene Achilles is in the underworld so maybe that is a punishment for him.
