Unlike Britain, the Czechs can afford Israeli stuff. [IsraelTimes] The Czech Republic is in talks with Israeli firms to buy a number of air defense systems, says Foreign Minister Petr Macinka.
During a press conference with Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar in Tel Aviv, Macinka says the Czechs are looking at the Spyder, Arrow and other defense systems.
“Regarding the Spyder, yes, we are discussing air defense systems with Israel because these systems are technologically on top,” Macinka says in response to a question from a reporter.
Netanyahu: Multiple countries are quietly expanding ties with Israel
Building connections instead of relying in a single patron is important. [IsraelTimes] More countries are quietly looking to expand relations with Israel, says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the state memorial ceremony for Revisionist Zionist thinker Ze’ev Jabotinsky.
“Thanks to the steady cultivation of our strength, multiple countries seek our partnership,” says Netanyahu. “This cooperation is growing, not in the spotlight, but it is taking place — not with one country, but with more than one or two. It also opens future possibilities for normalization and peace.”
While expressing gratitude to the US for its assistance, he stresses that Israel “must possess an independent weapons-production capability.”
Netanyahu points at the IDF presence in enemy territory as a key accomplishment of the post-October 7 wars.
“There is no longer any containment of threats,” he says. “There are no longer terror armies on our borders. We have created buffer zones deep inside neighboring territories. The Gaza envelope is inside Gaza. The Lebanon envelope is inside Lebanon. The Golan envelope is inside Syria.”
He repeats his pledge that as long as he is in office, Iran will not have nuclear weapons.
Netanyahu also again warns Iran not to attack Israel: “I say this to the tyrants in Iran — do not misjudge us. If we are attacked, we will respond with force. But it will not be a rerun. It will be a different level — far more powerful.”
