#Lebanon #STIREP | Residents who had returned to parts of the Nabatieh basin over the past three days following a period of relative de-escalation were forced to flee once again on Friday as hostilities resumed. Local communities that had briefly experienced around 24 hours of calm were displaced anew amid renewed airstrikes and military activity across the area.
Lebanese President and Joseph Aoun condemned the ongoing IDF escalation in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, saying the widening attacks and continued killings and destruction represent a dangerous and unacceptable escalation.
Aoun said that dozens of innocent people, including women and children, have been affected and warned that the attacks are undermining all efforts aimed at maintaining the ceasefire and ending the war, especially following the recent developments between the United States and Iran.
Despite the escalation, Aoun stressed that Lebanon remains committed to achieving a comprehensive ceasefire as soon as possible. He said he had instructed the Lebanese negotiating delegation ahead of the upcoming talks in Washington to prioritize this objective, emphasizing that a full ceasefire is essential before addressing other issues, including an Israeli withdrawal, the deployment of the Lebanese Army, and the return of prisoners.

Either Israel is making it clear that it is not bound by the U.S.-Iran deal — or it is getting in its last licks before the pressure kicks in.
Lebanese and Arab media report large movements of residents fleeing southern Lebanon, heading north from the Tyre, Nabatieh, and Bint Jbeil districts toward Beirut and Sidon.

Overnight, Hezbollah killed an Israeli Lt. Colonel, commander of Battalion 52, and 3 soldiers, in battles in the Ali Taher Ridge. Israel is seeking to capture this ridge due to the presence of major underground weapons storage, command & control & missile facility dug inside the mountain for over a decade.
While Hezbollah mostly avoided clashes with Israel forces as they advances across the south, withdrawing rather than engaging, Hezbollah has put up a serious defense of this facility.

IDF continues to operate across the border

Earlier Friday, prior to the new truce, the IDF announced that four of its soldiers had been killed overnight after a suspected drone or anti-tank missile struck their tank in the southern Lebanese village of Kfar Tebnit.
Israel responded by carrying out 150 strikes on what it said were Hezbollah targets across southern Lebanon, with Netanyahu declaring in a statement that the IDF had killed dozens of Hezbollah holy warriors in those strikes.
