Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer is leaving Trump's Cabinet after abuse of power allegations

Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer is out of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet, the administration announced Monday, after a series of alleged abuses of her position’s power, including having an affair with a subordinate and drinking alcohol on the job.

Chavez-DeRemer is the third Trump Cabinet member to leave her post after Trump fired his embattled Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in March and ousted Attorney General Pam Bondi earlier this month.

"Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer will be leaving the Administration to take a position in the private sector," White House spokesperson Steven Cheung said in a statement. "She has done a phenomenal job in her role by protecting American workers, enacting fair labor practices, and helping Americans gain additional skills to improve their lives."

He said Keith Sonderling, the current deputy labor secretary, would become acting labor secretary in her place.

Chavez-DeRamer’s departure follows reports that began surfacing in January that she was under a series of investigations. The news outlet NOTUS was the first to report her resignation Monday.

4 Hope that is the last of her. Unfortunately, She will fit right in with the batch of idiots running my State into the ground. How did she ever manage to get into a position of power in D.C.? One of the few, but obvious mistakes I have seen from Trump. Whoever talked him into using her for anything mare than a water girl should be fired!

5 I would deride her performance if I was aware that she was on the cabinet at all. Heard she was a lefty. Somebody in the press will notice that he canned three women and will make stupid accusations and insinuations.
