Kurds living in western Iran could begin a rebellion within a matter of days after being secretly armed by the United States, according to reports.
The US and Israel are thought to be seeking an armed uprising and have been smuggling weapons to Kurdish volunteers since last year.
An on-ground rebellion could begin in the coming days after the American-Israeli offensive struck western Iranian security targets to degrade their capabilities.
It comes after President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged the Iranian people to take back their country and overthrow the current regime.
As the conflict in the Middle East entered its fourth day on Tuesday, Trump lashed out as Sir Keir Starmer, saying 'it is not quite Winston Churchill we're dealing with'.
Earlier the President told Iran's surviving leaders it's 'too late' to talk as US and Israeli airstrikes obliterated a building in Tehran where the new Iranian leader would be picked.

His remarks come as Israeli and US strikes targeted a meeting of senior Iranian clerics tasked with choosing the next supreme leader to succeed Ayatollah Khamenei following his death on Saturday.
Meanwhile Iranian drones attacked another major Gulf oil refinery in the UAE and also targeted the site of the largest American military base in Qatar as the US-Israel war with Iran enters its fourth day.
And the US embassy in Saudi Arabia warned of 'imminent' missile and drone attacks in Riyadh after the building was struck by two Iranian drones last night.

Israel destroys 300 missile launch platforms; Iran says 170 students, teachers killed
Compared with the first three days of the war, aerial attacks by US and Israeli forces were fewer on Tuesday, the fourth day of the war, with greater focus on Tehran. Late Monday night, the Assembly of Experts building in Tehran was also targeted. The body holds its meetings in the former Iranian parliament building, where its administrative affairs are also managed.
It remains unclear when Iran’s next leader will be selected. Fars News Agency, which is close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported Tuesday night that the Assembly of Experts is working on selecting a new leader, but its meetings are not proceeding normally. Although attacks were fewer on Tuesday compared to previous days, a number of military bases and facilities were targeted in the provinces of Tehran, Qom, Isfahan, Hormozgan, Ardabil, and Sistan and Baluchestan.
On the fourth day of the war, the US and Israel struck several locations in the capital Tehran. According to circulating reports, a target in the Hakimiyeh industrial district in eastern Tehran was bombed Tuesday night.
Several targets in Tehran’s Fakouri neighborhood were also bombed Tuesday evening. A number of buildings were hit in the attacks, at least one of which was a security or military facility.
Mehrabad Airport and an air force base in Tehran were once again bombed. Several locations around Azadi Square were also targeted.

Another security and military facility targeted in Tehran on Tuesday was the headquarters of Iran’s police intelligence organization. Images and videos shared online show the building completely destroyed.
On Kish Island, videos circulating online show that a radar base belonging to the IRGC naval forces was completely destroyed. Areas around Kish Airport were also bombed again.
Some media outlets reported Tuesday night that a ground attack had taken place on the port of Chabahar in Sistan and Baluchestan province, but the city’s governor denied the claim, saying the city remains under government control.
In a statement, the IRGC’s public relations office said the US and Israel have been attacking schools, hospitals, sports fields, restaurants, and event halls, adding that more than 700 people have been killed so far, including 170 students and teachers.

US forces have struck nearly 2,000 targets in under 100 hours during Operation Epic Fury against Iran, Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM), said early Wednesday, highlighting the intensity of the military campaign against Tehran.

In retaliation, Iran has launched more than 500 ballistic missiles and 2,000 drones, which Cooper said are "indiscriminately targeting civilians."
He noted that despite these attacks, Iran’s offensive capacity is declining while US combat power continues to build, expressing confidence that they will "absolutely" achieve their "military objectives."
Deadly strikes continued to rain down on Iran as day broke on Wednesday, hours after the Islamic Republic struck a CIA base in Saudi Arabia.
The US and Israel's joint operation against Iran has now stretched into a fifth straight day, with the Israeli military announcing early Wednesday morning that it has launched a 'broad wave of strikes' in Iran.
Iranian state media has also reported missile strikes in cities throughout the country, as it continued to retaliate with strikes reported in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

Six US soldiers have already been killed in the military operation, dubbed Operation Epic Fury, with authorities announcing on Tuesday they included decorated servicemembers and even a mother-of-two.
Capt. Cody A. Khork, 35, of Winter Haven, Florida; Sgt. 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42, of Bellevue, Nebraska; Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; and Spc. Declan J. Coady, 20, of West Des Moines, lowa were killed when a drone hit a command center in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait on Sunday.
Amor had been just days from returning home to her husband and two children when she was killed.
But she had been in a state of 'constant concern,' her husband Joey Amor said.
'You could see it in the movements. She knew something was coming, she just didn’t know what scale.'
The grieving husband told how the decorated soldier had been moved off her base to a shipping container style building without defenses.
'They were dispersing because they were in fear that the base they were on was going to get attacked and they felt it was safer in smaller groups in separate places,' he said.
The couple exchanged messages about two hours before she was killed. 'She just never responded in the morning,' he said.
Authorities are now investigating the deadly strike, as a source familiar with the tragedy told CNN there was nothing shielding the command center from missiles or drones.
Three officials also told CBS News that prior to the attack, there had been discussion on the ground about whether the tactical operations center in question should not have been used as it concentrated too many people in a location that was not easily defended.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, however, insisted on Monday that the strike hit a 'tactical operation center that was fortified.'
He then claimed that there was just 'one' projectile that made it through the air defenses.
Following the deadly strike, President Donald Trump vowed to 'avenge' the fallen soldiers, though he warned that others may die as the operation continues.
The Trump administration has said the president decided to strike Iran to target its nuclear weapons program.
His decision to fire on the country on Saturday came after he received a phone call from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Axios reports.
Sources familiar with the conversation said Netanyahu called Trump on February 23 with a tip that Iran's Supreme Leader and his top advisors were all set to meet at one location in Tehran on Sunday morning.
The call was part of months of intensive coordination between the two world leaders, who met twice and spoke by phone 15 times in the two months leading up to the operation, the sources said.

But the joint US-Israeli offensive is now said to be seeking an armed uprising in Iran using a Kurdish fighting force.
Reports suggest that thousands of volunteers in western Iran have been armed with weapons ready for a rebellion since 2024.
At the same time, though, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney walked back his government's support for the military operation, saying it comes with 'regret because the current conflict is another example of the failure of the international order.'
He noted that the Canadian government's official support was based on the threat posed by Iran's nuclear program and its human rights record, but criticized the US and Israel, which 'have acted without engaging the United Nations or consulting with allies, including Canada.'
Carney also stressed that Canada would not participate in any military action against Iran, but would help with any efforts to reach a negotiated settlement.
'Diplomatic engagement is essential to avoid a wider and deeper conflict,' he said, adding that it needs to 'involve broader parties than just the United States, Israel and Iran.'
