Pentagon announces $8.6 billion Boeing contract for Israeli F-15s

[IsraelTimes] Boeing was given an $8.6 billion contract for the F-15 Israel Program, the Pentagon says, after US President Donald Trump met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida.

“This contract provides for the design, integration, instrumentation, test, production, and delivery of 25 new F-15IA aircraft for the Israeli Air Force with an option for an additional 25 F-15IA aircraft,” the Pentagon says. # id) ?>

6 That’s on ly $344million each, including all the upgrades the Israelis have been devising.

It sounds like they anticipate future targets won’t have sophisticated defenses against future bombing runs… or at least that they won’t after Israel’s F-35s do a first pass.

7 ...Boeing owns the F-15, as it's the result of a merger between Boeing and the old McDonnell-Douglas. They own the old McAir facilities in St. Louis.

8 TW the Israelis are seeming to adopt the US doctrine when it comes to 4th and 5th generation fighters. The F-35s come in and degrade the air defense (SEAD missions) and the F-15s stay farther back as missile trucks and level the site after.
