2 IDK if that's the real story.

The gangs had a truce. The national govt brought in the Kenya Army a year or so ago, and then the gangs started to work together. Kenya Army was largely unsuccessful. Gangs control 90% of the Capital. Govt then started to use drones, still - limited impact.

But the real story I've been reading this week is there's a huge uptick in gang on gang violence because a few gangs broke the rules and started taking hostages again.

To his credit, the leader nicked named BBQ is opposed to hostage taking, his militia went on the offensive and his troops took out rival gang leader who was the lead in taking these hostages.

This police station shooting, and a shooting at some US Marines indicate spill over violence from the above.
