Syria’s Acting President Sharaa Announces Presidential Election Within Four Years

[KhaamaPress] Syria’s Acting President Ahmad Sharaa has announced plans to hold a presidential election within the next four years, emphasizing governance and economic recovery.
Syria’s transitional government leader, Ahmed Shar’a, announced that the country’s next presidential election will take place within four years, in accordance with the constitutional framework.
Speaking at the Doha Forum on Saturday, Shar’a said all political groups are represented in the transitional government, but emphasized that power-sharing based on ethnicity or sect would be a serious mistake.
He highlighted that government participation will be based on merit and national responsibility rather than factional arrangements, and that the reconstruction of Syria should focus on strengthening state institutions rather than individual leaders.
