Judge speaks out after her $1.5m mansion 'exploded' in suspected arson attack after she defied Trump order

[DM] Several reports said the circuit court judge had received death threats over the past few weeks following her decision to prevent the state from handing over sensitive voter registration documents to the federal government.

A judge whose $1.5 million beach house burned down after a suspected arson explosion has spoken to the Daily Mail in the wake of the inferno.

Judge Diane Goodstein, 69, said: 'I'm alright,' when contacted Monday morning, two days after her property in Edisto Beach, South Carolina, was consumed by flames.

Goodstein sounded cheerful over the phone and said she would be 'happy to direct you to a court administrator' to answer further questions about the fire.

The judge was out walking on the beach when the suspected arson attack happened - just weeks after she had issued a decisive ruling against the Trump administration.

Her former Democrat state senator husband Arnold Goodstein jumped from a first floor window to escape the blaze and suffered multiple broken bones. Two others were also hospitalized.

Authorities are now working to determine what may have caused the four-bedroom, four bath home to go up in smoke.

Trump's Department of Justice had requested South Carolina officials turn over the personal data of more than 3.3 million voters, including names, addresses, birth dates, driver's license numbers and the last four digits of their Social Security numbers. # id) ?>

He jumped all the way from a first floor window? Wow. And what, exactly, was he doing before the fire started? Did he come close to getting his little fingies burned when he did it? This whole incident reeks of false flag. Trump doesn't need to burn her house. All he needs is to get the case heard by SCOTUS.

11 Haven't been following Low Country weather, but I'll go with "first use this year of fireplace, heaters, or indoor grill." Always think of that as a poor folks thing, but I suppose "the law, in its majesty," must be just as subject to carelessness and stupidity as the rest of us.

America and Britain: divided by the same language. The Daily Mail is an English newspaper; what we call the first floor they call the ground floor. What they call the first storey, we call the second story.

So he jumped out the upstairs window, and landed poorly, rather than just stepping out through French doors onto the back deck.

13 And having said all that, Yahoo reports this evening that the house on the edge of a marsh had an elevated first floor, so it’s not a language thing after all — it sounds like the house was functionally on stilts to keep the water out.

Also, authorities report no evidence of arson thus far.
