Israeli military says tanks entered UNIFIL base in an attempt to evacuate soldier, Netanyahu urges UNIFIL to withdraw troops from war zone

[GEO.TV] The Israeli military said that one of its tanks entered several meters into a UNIFIL post in southern Lebanon while attempting to evacuate injured soldiers on Sunday.

In a statement, the military said its actions posed no danger to the UN peacekeeping force.

Netanyahu urges UNIFIL to evacuate troops from combat areas in Lebanon

[GEO.TV] Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged the United Nations on Sunday to evacuate troops in its UNIFIL peacekeeping force from combat areas in Lebanon.

Netanyahu said the military had asked the UN to evacuate the soldiers repeatedly, adding that their presence in the area made them hostages of Hezbollah.
