announced the death of its commander in the Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarem Thursday, where the Israeli military said it had "eliminated" five "fighters", including Muhammad Jabber, also known as Abu Shujaa.
"Abu Shujaa, commander of the Tulkarem Brigade of the al-Quds Brigades," the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, which has a strong presence in the refugee camps in the north of the occupied West Bank, "died along with several brothers of his brigade after a heroic battle against the soldiers of the (Israeli) occupation", the group said in a statement.
Israeli military says killed 5 Palestinian "fighters" on day two of West Bank raids
[GEOTV] The Israeli military said its forces killed five Palestinian "fighters" in the occupied West Bank on Thursday in a second day of operations that have killed 14 in total.
"Following exchanges of fire, the forces eliminated five [fighters] who had hidden inside a mosque" in Tulkarem on Thursday morning, the military said.
On Wednesday, the military said it killed nine "fighters" in simultaneous raids in several West Bank cities and refugee camps.
Israeli military operation in northern West Bank 'may continue for several days,' says army
[GEOTV] Israeli army's ongoing military operation in the northern West Bank ''may continue for several days and possibly longer,'' a military spokesperson told Anadolu on Thursday.
''The operation will continue as long as necessary to achieve its security goals, meaning that we might witness confrontations for several more days and possibly longer if required,'' Ella Waweya said.
