1 For more than forty years the al-Thani family that rules Qatar has been hand in glove with the international Muslim Brotherhood (which gave rise to Al Qaeda). It provided a home to Qaradawi the MB cadi (religious leader). Despite its miserable reputation it sought support in the USA in great part to keep Saudi Arabia off its back. Stupidly, the US military built a big base there. In the USA itself the Clintons and Brookings Foundation, inter alia, broke bread with the al-Thani and kept their payoffs well disguised. Washingon has coddled the Arab conmen seemingly forever and it is well past time to cut the cord.
