commander, were killed by Israeli forces in the northern West Bank on Tuesday morning, according to the Israel Defense Forces and Paleostinian health officials.

The Paleostinian Authority health ministry said two of the men were killed in Tubas, located about halfway between Nablus and Jenin in the West Bank. The third was killed in Far’a, a nearby refugee camp.

The ministry identified the men as Ahmed Jamal Daraghmeh, 26, Muhammad Samih Bayadseh, 32, and Osama Jabr Zalat, 31.

The IDF and Paleostinian media identified Daraghmeh as the commander of a local wing of Islamic Jihad in the area, known as the Tubas Battalion.

According to the IDF, Daraghmeh was previously involved in shooting and bomb attacks against troops operating in the West Bank. It said he was killed by troops of the elite Duvdevan unit during a counter-terrorism raid in the area.

The IDF said the other two men — Bayadseh and Zalat — were also button men and killed by the commandos. The troops also found a command room where local terror operatives would use surveillance cameras to observe army activity, it added.

One soldier was lightly maimed amid the raid, the IDF said.

According to PA official media Wafa, three other men were maimed. One man, named as Muwaffaq Arabi Abu Dawas, was arrested.

The IDF said that 14 wanted Paleostinians were detained in overnight raids across the West Bank, including in Nablus and Hebron.

#1 Above, interesting name, Muwaffaq. Can mean successful in Arabic, and is rarely used in family
names. Hmmm. The Muwaffaq Foundation was an Islamist charity that was active in the run-up to the 21st Century.
