According to the residents, the bombs were planted by al-Qaeda members on the side of the roads linking the city of Mudiyah and the area of al-Furaid.
The sources said the explosives were prepared to target a military convoy of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia, which was on its way to the area.
A few days ago, an bomb went kaboom! in a leader’s military convoy in the STC militia while passing through the same district, killing the leader and wounding 6 others.
