The secret bases of the al-Shabaab in the areas were all destroyed in the raid, said an official with the local regional administration, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Al-Shabaab is facing a military offensive that saw the liberation of dozens of villages in the Hiran, Middle Shabelle, and Galgadud regions.
