Horrific moment US man, 21, stabs grandfather, 70, in neck hours after being freed from mental hospital - prompting cops at the scene to shoot knifeman AND his grandpa dead
|
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] - Footage showed the moment deputies in Illinois shot a man and his grandpa dead last year after the grandson stabbed the elderly man in the neck
- Officers were called to the Joliet home in November 2021 when a family member reported Jabbar Muhammad, 21, was in an argument with Eldred Wells Sr., 70
- The 21-year-old had just been released from a mental hospital hours before the altercation and had attempted to commit suicide about ten days prior
So it could have been just that he’s nuts, or it could have been suicide by cop.
Either way, all this could have been avoided if the authorities could have kept young Mr. Muhammad in hospital long enough to actually stabilize him. But that would require the state spending a good deal more on suicide ward beds and psychiatric staff.
- Muhammad was experiencing a mental health crisis when police arrived and refused to put the knife down
Islamic Euphoria™?
- Deputies then aimed to shoot Muhammad who had leapt toward Wells and ended up shooting both of them
