#1 a number of people in Obama's admin tried to find this fatwa and were not able to do so

all they found were indirect references to it (which was good enough for them since they wanted to suck up anyway)

#2 They’ve been saying that for years, but taqqiya is a thing. But there are holes in it big enough to drive a truck through.

  • Are there other and/or subsequent fatwas demanding nuclear weapons?
  • Will they continue working on current projects until putting together the pieces on the workbench inexplicably results in a nuclear weapon?
  • Is this a fatwa the author of which did not intend to be followed?
  • Is this, as Lord Garth seems to be suggesting, an imaginary or vapourware fatwa, which only exists as signs point at nothing?

    And of course there is the fact that the CIA lied when they claimed in 2003 that Iran had stopped all work toward nukes. So if there is such a fatwa in the record, it doesn’t matter.

    #3 They simply couldn't have made nukes then, without being desert stormed and pounded into shit by America and allies. They were seeing what you did to Iraq that year. So the ayatollahs spouted nonsense about nukes being unislamic and there being no intention of developing WMDs.

    But that was a different America.
