Anders Puck Nielsen, a military analyst at the Royal Danish Defence College, has some answers. What Ukraine is doing right now is not a traditional counteroffensive, but a prolonged attrition strategy to degrade Russian logistics and forces. # id) ?>

1 What else can they do? Any invasion gambit (ex: Robert E. Lee's Gettysburg Campaign) could very easily fail for all the logistical problems the invading Russians are facing, or if 'successful' the Russians might very well use 'defensive' and 'tactical' nuclear weapons -- a LOSE/LOSE Scenario for the Ukrainians.

Like the Imperial Japanese in 1944-45 they are trying to exhaust the attacker and get a 'better' negotiated settlement. Good luck with that.

2 ...haven't noticed that Putin has not called for full mobilization. Got to wonder why given the operational situation.

3 ^ "'better' negotiated settlement. Good luck with that" They have absolutely no interest in a settlement with Russia. NATO and West push on to continue war and will provide money and weapons eventually. We promise. :)
