1 This one is a head scratcher for me. Certainly, you can see the small fast-movers traveling from Iran to Oman on a surface search radar, but I don’t know what authority we have to interdict traffic in the Gulf of Oman. Who are we planning on getting tips from? Iranians or Omani’s? To my knowledge, we don’t have a naval presence in either country. We probably still gas up in Oman, but I think the nearest naval set is in Bahrain or Dubai. This type of intel op does not seem like something that the Navy would be good at. The money would become more of a donation at best. At worst, we will interdict a shipment of dynamite with a remote detonator.
