SDF arrests three members of ISIS in the eastern countryside of Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
|
On June 26, 2022 and under period of darkness the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) conducted a successful operation against an ISIS sleeper cell in Jurda in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, a military source in the Global Coalition said.
In the operation, the SDF managed to arrest three ISIS members named Mohammed Sahboo al Zekia, Harith al-Mahal al-Salih and Tariq Abddulbassar al-Sebty, the source added.
The source stressed that the SDF replaced security measures to ensure no innocent civilians were maimed during this operation.
The SDF is committed to providing security and stability throughout Deir ez-Zor and will not tolerate ISIS putting innocent civilians in harm’s way.
According to the source, ISIS is incapable and incompetent of conducting full scale operations throughout Deir ez-Zor which has cause infighting within the remaining ISIS cells.
Members of ISIS want to create more instability, but many of the members believe their leaders are afraid and want to remain in hiding, the military source said.
