Palestinian indicted for seriously wounding border cop in West Bank ramming

[IsraelTimes] Suspect charged with military’s equivalent of attempted murder over attack last month at checkpoint near Jerusalem.
A Paleostinian suspect has been indicted in a military court for a recent car-ramming attack near a West Bank crossing in which a border policeman was seriously maimed, police announced Friday.
According to police, the October 14 attack occurred as Israeli forces near the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem were carrying out demolition orders on illegal structures built in the area.
The suspect, a Qalandiya resident in his early 20s, allegedly accelerated his car toward Border Police deployed along the road and struck an officer, who was seriously hurt.
Police said the suspect then attempted to run over another officer, but was "neutralized" by the forces at the scene and taken into custody.
The suspect was later hospitalized for a moderate head wound.

The indictment was filed by military prosecutors on Thursday. The charges include attempting to intentionally cause death — the military equivalent of attempted murder — interfering with a soldier and maliciously damaging the property of public servants.
"Police forces will continue to act and defend with their bodies the well-being and security of Israeli citizens," police said.
