"At least 17 Taliban were killed and more than 10 others were maimed in the past 24 hours during festivities in Shindand," he said.
He did not provide details about possible casualties in the festivities.
The Taliban has not yet commented on the attacks.
Shindand has witnessed other Taliban attacks on security outposts in recent days.
