were killed and 17 were maimed in festivities with security forces in the past 24 hours, local security officials said.
In central Ghazni province, at least six Taliban were killed and five were maimed after the Taliban attacked security forces in the Landakhil area in Aab Band district of the province on Saturday evening, local officials said.

"The Taliban’s weapons and vehicles, including cycle of violences, were also destroyed in the airstrike," according to officials.
In northern Samangan province, at least 14 Taliban were killed and 12 were maimed after the Taliban attacked police checkpoints in Dara-e-Sof district of the province, said local officials.
"The Taliban were engaged by security forces and most of the Taliban were killed in the supporting airstrike at the location," officials said.
The officials also said that some of Taliban commanders are also among the death, adding that "the Taliban’s attack has been pushed back and the Taliban escaped after suffering heavy casualties."
Officials did not provide any details over possible security forces casualties in the attack.
The Taliban have not commented on the attacks.
