Security force member is shot at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi in Texas after gunman opens fire at gate before being 'neutralized'

FBI is investigating the Thursday morning shooting at Naval Air Station in Texas

The gunman, who has not been identified, was shot dead by security forces

According to USNI News, the shooter was described as being an 'Arab male'

Authorities responded to active shooter at station's North Gate around 6.15am

Officials said in statement that gunman had been 'neutralized' a short time later

The Navy confirmed that one security force member was injured during incident

Base employs more than 9,700 people, including 1,900 active duty personnel
