[Wikipedia]  President Clinton and the DC Swamp needing a deflection from events unfolding in DC, decided to "Save Africa from Africa", by upping it and taking out warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid's organization in Mogadishu, Somalia.
As a result 18 US Army Rangers, SFOD-D, USSOCOM personnel, and about 1,000++ Somalis were killed in heavy fighting.
