The mayor said he used a $1.25 billion bond to strengthen his city’s environmental policies.

“It’s the largest economic development bond in the history of Chicago. I used $135 million of that economic development bond to build green social housing,” Johnson said.

4 They keep the schools open so that the Teachers Union members are not laid off, still paid and keep their retirement payouts.

The CTU controls the School Board(s), and thus the decision to keep the empty schools open.

5 But, but, but you can't lay them off or terminate them because there are no students to teach. They are Democratic Chicago Machine members, and likely DEI hires. They are ENTITLED to a paycheck and retirement. Don't you understand ?
