Yes, AA has been hacked/compromised a number of times over just the last 4 years alone. (eg.2022, 2024, and 2025)

But the IT techies are pointing to a more likely DNS or Routing outage/issue. Given the AA public website, mobile app's, and AA employee terminal networks all went down simultaneously. It could have just been a DNS, or BGP routing failure within AA's network. Or Yes, a DOS attack.
