2 According to the Jerusalem Post today, Skidmark, they are two different sites:

The IDF had Hezbollah on the defensive by taking over not only the area around Majdal Zoun, including terrorist tunnels, but also the area and tunnels around Ali Taher Ridge and Beaufort Castle, he said.

Wikipedia says:

Majdal Zoun or Majdalzoun is a municipality in the Tyre district of Southern Lebanon.
Coordinates: 33.1519°N 35.2275°E
Grid position 171/283 PAL

Ali Taher Ridge does not have a separate entry, being listed only as near the city of Nabatieh/Nabatiyeh, whose location is given as

Coordinates: 33°22′38″N 35°29′1″E
Grid position 125/160 L

All you map reading types can figure out where exactly the two sites are in relation to each other.

3 With two coordinates, you only need basic math to find the distance.

But it's been 25 years since I did it on a calculator.
