A not unreasonable position. But it raises the question: Should Israel care more about their neighbors than said neighbors care about Israel?

3 Hez'b is not a nation, nor a legitimate partner to any Iran MOU. Israel should still be free to smoke them. Attempts to add them, Houthis, Hamas, et all are non-starters

6 In 1984 then West-German foreign minister Genscher made a diplomatic outreach to Iran. Iran reacted by making Germany specifically a target of its asymmetrical aggression, correctly interpreting diplomacy as weakness.

I wonder if they will react in the same way to Merz.

Iran has been shown to be a pathetic performer in symmetrical war, but Iran has brilliantly waged asymmetrical war on the West for decades.

Iran has diminished freedom in the West to an extent the nuclear armed Soviet Union never achieved. They should not be underestimated.
