2 Rope is not part of a patrol vehicle's equipment in the trunk?

3 I bet it will be available now at least seasonally weather situations, because that is putting a lot of faith into those handles.

Length of rope can be pretty handy. 20' of 0.5" kernmantle doesn't take that much space.

It never occurred to me to keep a heavier rope in the trunk. I have jumper cables, a scraper/snow brush, a basic first aid kit, and a jack for changing tires.

5 Oy! That's a lot of rope!

Kernmantle is difficult to cut without a hot-wire; it frays, so it has to be melted for best cut, which is difficult "in the field".

But yes; using simple knots and hitches, I've used it to make a harness to move railway ties and pulled out posts using a lever and hitch knots, and even a climbing safety harness can be fashioned - though a bit uncomfortable. 50' a person could secure 2 vehicles through the roll cage frame, maybe not pull a vehicle out of a situation but maybe keep the vehicle from rolling into a worse situation. Can make dragging something, like a person (secure the head), much more efficient. Throw in a pully or two and get really wacky.

And what could be done, in a pinch, is use that rope as a booster/leveler for a jack. Not recommended, but sometimes Best Practices goes out with the bath water just don't forget about the baby.

What 'bothered' me about what they did, not criticism because brilliant and it worked, is a handle is so easy to grab or use as a catch in a moment of 'oh shit!', and what I trust less than the crimp is the hinge.
