2 How about Trump making a secret proposal to the PRC? Tell them to help unblock the Strait ASAP or the USA will simply obliterate all oil export facilities on Kharg Island to such an extent it would take 5-10 years to replace. Iran would run out of income very rapidly in that case. China would be in a world of hurt. No worrying about tankers going into the Persian Gulf without a way to load petroleum. The wells would be left untouched. No need to send in troops. Most likely the export facilities are on surface and not a half mile underground. This thread might also motivate our "allies" to pitch in.
