2 Why the US Strikes Iran?

This is a bit off the Rantburg Reservation, but does Rantburg know about City of London. Not London, but the financial-banker fiefdom inside London?

When we say Banker Wars, these are the bankers.

That said, does Rantburg know the history of British Petroleum and Iran?

Iran is basically a franchise of the City of London bankers. The Iranian Regime's access to international markets while under sanctions are through liaisons via City of London. Next to the Mullahs, City of London banking elites will be the next biggest losers if the regime falls.
