1 I watched tons of "mountain climbing disaster" videos on Youtube until I got tired of them.
Always the same story every time: a 100 year storm, extremely poor judgement or a boulder or snowslide crushes them. They're always far too high for any rescue.
They hugged each other for warmth because it's cold in there.

2 It seems reasonable to assume that fresh snow on a mountain might cause avalanche conditions, or that on mountains or any remote area the weather can rapidly change for the worse, but people don’t seem to think of such things.

3 Authorities said conditions rapidly declined once the hike began, due to the altitude and the area's terrain.

You really have to know when to cancel the outing. Caving, scuba, sky diving, climbing; weather conditions are key.
