In other words.
Hamas sees it needs 5 years to re-arm, recruit, and resupply itself.

EVEN IF, Hamas was flushed and wipe clean from this Earth.

There still are over a MILLION radicals, within the 2 BILLION Muslims followers, that support the genocide against any followers of the Jewish, & Christian faiths.

So really this is just another "temporary" 2 to 4 year cease fire, which will like before have occasional oops's.

Hopefully NO Muslim radical group, acquires a NUKE or a DNA tuned Bio Weapon in the meantime.

3 Getting back the living hostages was huge, but if it were anyone else other than The Donald playing for our side, one would expect yet another exercise in kicking the can down the road. But Trump is not a chump. Coming up in real estate, he has dealt with villains, thieves and scoundrels at all scales from local contractors, city and state officials, unions, the media, and the American Deep State.

Trump is about making deals. Deals are contracts. Contracts have penalty clauses for non-performance. In this case, the clause reads "Or we will kill you all". Hamas is expecting to get away under the cover of the usual international suspects. But this time, having yielded to self-interest, too many Arab states are on board. As for the rest of the "international community", we wish them well. Sorry, Hamas. A deal is a deal.

7 All that. But also, Hamas in asking for five years expects to need somewhat or much less, at which point it can erupt in another 10/7, as promised. The number they threw out is to fool the unbelievers into complacency once again, as held through 10/6/2023.

I imagine, though of course I don’t understand at all what’s involved, that within 6-12 months they would have rearmed through Egypt in partnership with Iran and Turkey — financed by Qatar and private Saudi, etc. funds — and hastily constructed strongpoints within/underneath the refugee encampments and the rubble. After that it would just be more and better of both, with planning aid from the IRGC, unless the intention is to wait until Donald Trump is out of office in the belief that his successor will be weaker and more gullible.
