7 as of this evening, Halong is no longer a tropical storm and peak winds are below hurricane force

the energy from the storm is being entrained into the general westerlies

yes, the remnants will affect Alaska as basically, just another fall storm

and btw, SF is expecting a pretty good shot of rain Monday 13 Oct
