#5 Sounds like they want to join the human race. That should be encouraged.

And, yes, we do have business in that part of the world. It is an infamous choke point for international maritime shipping that is under constant threat from Somali pirates and Houthi jihadist. A US Navy base in such a strategic location would be good for everybody except the pirates and jihadist.
