#2 I recall sitting in the lounge on the top floor of the Airport Regal Hotel - windows taped to minimize the glass flying if they shattered. Drinking gin and tonics and watching unsecured LD3's (lower deck baggage containers) roll across the tarmac at Kai Tak like tumbleweeds. Cleanup after the fact was no joy - but at least all of our aircraft held at origin to avoid damage on the ground from the debris. Notsomuch for our competitors . . .
