#1 Hope it is true, but no confirmation from any Ukrainian gov sites or news sites. Though FWIW, Wikipedia claims his capture.

If so, the boy is in a lot of trouble. He oversaw the destruction of Mariupol and the deportation of its citizens. War crime galore.

#3 The shoulder boards in the field uniform is that of a major general.

#6 Senkove is the first bridge across the Oskil River south of Kupyansk. Bridge in Kupyansk reported by Russian sources to have been blown up. Unconfirmed reports that Ukes are now in Horokhovatka, which is on the main supply line to Izium. If that's true and they are in force, the only remaining way for supply or escape of Izium forces is a secondary road running East to the Donetsk front.

Next questions: Do the Russians have a theater reserve worthy of the name? Can the Ukrainians manage their logistics better than the Russians?

This is signifiant movement, but the Russians have a LOT of geographical depth. East of the Oskil is territory that was rapidly overrun by Russia in late February, so it hasn't been beat to **** like Luhansk and Donetsk fronts. Apparently Russia didn't spend any time fortifying it, so it's a mobile fight now.

Already destroyed, back in March? That's BOTH the bridge across the Oskil Reservoir at Horokhovatka and the sole bridge across the Oskil River just south of the reservoir east of the settlement of Oskil. There, the Russians put in a single lane dirt/pipe berm at river level.

These are fairly light forces, mech infantry. We don't really know what the Ukrainians have on the ground - they've been pretty careful to show posed shots of just guys in front of town signs or buildings. The only heavy armor I've seen is captured Russian; a few trashed Uk BMPs have shown up in posts, IIRC.

Only Woke American Propaganda outlets like Reddit report this as fact. Russia media hasnt commented. Foreign fairly independent sources like DailyMail, Express UK and even Kyiv Post use the words Likely, Possible, and Speculation.

And if I followed this thing correctly, all cites and references of the capture leads back to a single journalist quote.

That is what I have seen too. Mostly BMPs and even M113s with infantry and a shit ton of anti-armor weapons. Seen a few Ukraine tanks, but mostly mechanized infantry.

But at this point that is Ukraine's bread and butter. They have well trained units and know how to use them.

Would be concentrated at the spearhead. There are plenty of videos of destroyed and captured Russian tanks along the line of advance. M-113s didn't do that.

#20 Wow. liveuamap is usually pretty conservative with their sourcing. If true, the Russians in Izyum are truly screwed, barring some sort of hasty counterattack to relieve them. For those following along at home, look at 49.188178,37.3247409 on your favorite mapper. Those towns are straight east of Izyum right on the only remaining route in or out.

(It's kind of trippy to follow this on Google Maps and have it bring up things like 'Discount Supermarket' on the outskirts of Izyum. Closes soon! The click-through advises: "Information about this place may be outdated. Always pay attention to real-world conditions, which may be rapidly changing." No shit.)
