#4 The fan farms around here were working just fine yesterday AM when it was -43F wind chill.

The actual temp was only -19F though, so possibly they do shut down at -22F actual. We've been colder but haven't seen -22F this year during the daylight hours (yet).

P.S. - I don't watch for the fans at night, more concentrated on deer and critter movements while driving.

#5 the takeaway for the green imbeciles isn't that relying on 'green' energy is a bad idea, but that the intensely cold weather is caused by fossil fuels. ergo, we should be using more wind turbines.

Just because the windmill is turning doesn't mean it's generating electricity. The blades and main bearings may still be functional, but the generators and gearing isn't.
