#2 RIP Dave. It doesn't seem that long ago that he was posting on the Burg. I knew him through Rantburg. His comments were always on target. Wish I'd known him personally.

#3 That picture was taken at my place quite a while ago when I hosted a Shootapalooza. Dave was a several-time visitor at my place. He came down for a few days when a bllod vessel in my right lung ruptured. He helped me with my horses and housework. We would sit on my front porch drinking Bloody Marys, watching the raccoons catch crawfish at the pond, and solving the world's problems. Hell of a guy.

#6 Got to know Dave D. Originally at the O-Club as Auto-Bartender. We maintained our friendship through the years with emails and phone calls. Then I got a phone call from a very frustrated Dave. A govt agency was getting errors in its testing of 20%. So Dave asked me to look into it. After getting permission for me to look into the issue. I did some simple engineering calcs and found the problem. The rocket scientists were amazed when they found out that I was a civil engineer who designed Alaska bush water and sewer systems an was a bush pilot. Dave provided the instrument he designed but the rocket scientists did not use it correctly. We got a good laugh for years.

#7 Very sad to hear. I remember him posting and thing he seemed to drop off. Glad that he kept in touch with people here though.

I worry every time I see a name stop popping up, that we've lost another one. So many here simply go quiet and there's no way to know what's happened.

I pasted Mullah Richard‘s fix over my 404 generator, and it now works for me — even though to my eye it looks exactly the same. Thank you, John QC and Mullah Richard for the assist.

This is exactly why I gave up the idea of going into programming as a career.
